The inaugural Design Edge event was held in Boston last September. The majority of participating furniture makers last fall have committed to exhibiting again at the March event.

Design Edge Co. is bringing the living room to interior designers, according to founder and CEO Lee Hershberg. “We’ve found a winning formula for both designers and suppliers,” he says.

“Design Edge allowed me to connect with vendors I love and have never seen,” says interior designer Prudence Bailey, who made the trip to Boston from her port of ties to New Canaan, CT. “I get to see new products from vendors I’ve ordered from, and also meet new vendors and have the opportunity to view their products, so overall it’s a worthwhile investment of time. sadness.”

Interior designer Robin Gannon, based in Lexington, MA, described her experience at the Boston event this way. “[It’s] a great representation of High Point Market on a nice and manageable scale. All your representatives are there so you can better understand how to buy from them. You can do a sitting test, touch and smell the products.

From a vendor perspective, Dan Minor, President of Charleston Forge, said, “At the inaugural event in Boston, Charleston Forge was introduced to 176 design companies that we hadn’t previously connected with, we opened eight accounts with orders, and more are moving forward. . With these new connections we have a new target group. We’ve seen the appreciation New England designers have shown us for making the effort to come to the event, which will translate into positive results from our marketing efforts. Additionally, in the greater Boston area, we use M-Geough as a trade showroom. We have seen an acceleration of orders with them since the event.

“When we first heard about the Design Edge platform, we were instantly on board,” adds Tara Rogers, vice president of sales and merchandising for Taylor King. “We had such high expectations for the first event in Boston, and we’re happy to say that Design Edge Boston exceeded our expectations. The event was very well organized and brought together an impressive number of high-end design companies. The interaction we had with the designers was outstanding. We look forward to Seattle in March 2022.”
