Businesses around the world have focused on outdoor spaces knowing that we are all ready to spend more time in the fresh air. I have always said that you should treat your outdoor spaces as you would your indoor spaces to make sure they are comfortable and inviting. The same rules apply when it comes to decorating, so
you have to think about scale, adding patterns, texture and layering.

We’ve come a long way from plastic patio chairs, so I’m excited to share some of my top outdoor trends for 2021.

Interior Exterior

Creating multifunctional spaces is very important, especially if you live in a climate where the weather can be unpredictable.

Creating indoor / outdoor spaces is a huge trend in design right now. With furniture, the trend is to make them look
like any of the rooms would fit perfectly indoors or outdoors. Much attention is paid to the design of each room to ensure that it is not only suitable for outdoor living, but also looks good.

The outdoor enclosures are hot this year. Solariums are added to the houses, ensuring that they can be used all year round. Metal enclosures with a louvered roof are so versatile and can extend your outdoor entertaining season by a few months. They are simple in appearance, so they take nothing away from the outside environment and can be operated with the click of a remote control. So simple and easy!

Shapes and textures

The texture is trendy. Many different materials are used from cane, rattan and various weaving techniques. It adds a wonderful look to the furniture and the different shapes make it unique. Gone are the days of big bulky pieces. Today it’s all about thinner metallic designs and lots of white.

Modular

When it comes to seating, sectional sofas are the perfect piece to make sure you enjoy every nook and cranny. Sectionals are also modular which is so important in an outdoor space. It’s easy to move your coins into convenient configurations, as well as move them apart when hosting. When you don’t have a lot of outdoor space, you want to make sure the furniture is easy to move around to make the most of the space.

Tropical Bohemian

Nothing beats feeling like you’re in the tropics, and this trend for the outdoors is one that I love. Filling your outdoor plants with gorgeous tropical greens will give you that vibe. Just be sure to take them once it starts to get cold. Using natural materials like bamboo or wicker is comfortable, and of course a bold color palette is a must. Mix your designs from stripes to geometric patterns to make your space fun and stand out.
